Alright I just loaded a game onto my palm t/x and restarted my computer...now the game works fine but the little grey menu on the bottom of my screen went blank (where all my quick touch options are). And the area where my i write my graffiti is just pure grey as well... what do I do??? I tried restarting the palm...didn't work. I tried unistalling the program....didn't work. What do I do??

Also I have versamail and it used to work now when I click on it nothing happens???? Whats going on here do I have a virus...???? Or is it just a glitch??? (this happened before I loaded the game)

This is not Windows so you don't have a virus.

You say "I tried restarting the palm". Do you mean you did a soft reset, a hard reset or what?

If a soft reset won't fix it then a hard reset might be in order.

well I did a soft reset but I tried doing a hard reset (holding down the reset button for 30 seconds) but it still didn't work. Although I don't think the hard reset worked because I still have all my information and contacts.

That is not how you do a hard reset.

To do the hard reset you press the reset button on the back of the TX. Then as soon as the red Palm logo appears you press and hold the Power button on top of the TX. Don't let go until the gray screen comes up. When the gray screen comes up you let go of the Power button. You will then be able to press the D-pad's UP button to do a hard reset. You could also press the DOWN button to not do a hard reset in case you changed your mind.

It wiil delete everything from your TX and will install just the factory apps that came on the TX.

You didn't do a hard reset. The procedure is as follows:

HARD RESET:

1.Press and hold down power button.

2.While holding down power button use tip of stylus or other pointy object to gently press and release the rest button inside the hole on the back of the TX.

3.Wait for the Palm Powered logo to appear, and then release the power button.

Taken from page 600 of PDF version of TX user manual.

I learned that method by simply forgetting the actual prescribed method! is

Actually, I also discovered that I can do a hard reset by tapping on an app called "Soft Reset". This app does the same thing as poking the stylus in the back of the TX. Anyway, as soon as you see the red logo screen just hold the power button until the gray screen comes up then let go of the power button and press UP on the d-pad.

Alright so.... I did a hard reset and when I hot synced my palm to load my backup folder and re-install all my programs the same thing happened. So I went and deleted the previous program (that I thought originally did this to the palm). I then went and repeated all the previous steps and the same thing happened!!! What does a guy do??? Delete my Back-up folder, hard reset, and reinstall everything on here by hand again? Is there any way of getting around that?
Any suggestions?? Tim bits of information???

Thanks
Brett

Well, something like that. You can reinstall half of your apps. If the TX still works, install half of the remaining half and try again, and so on. You eliminate things much quicker that way.

Don't delete your backup folder. Just remove half of the apps and put them in another folder you create with a name like "untried apps" or whatever.

I would recommend taking a quick look in your backup folder for statusbarlib.prc and appsliprotate.prc. If you find them, delete them. They were required for the T3 to work right in landscape mode, and some older games packaged them with the actual program files.

After you clear those files from your backup folder, either hard-reset and hotsync again to reload everything, or do a warm reset, and then use filez or some such file manager to look for and delete those same two files on your Palm.
