Science Lab: measuring mass/volume/density help?

Ok so, I have this science lab tomorrow..and I don't know how to measure density.
Purpose of lab: To make a hydrometer and to test the density of various liquids with it.

What my class had to do was put a straw, with clay at the end of it, into liquids. I measured (in centimeters) how far the straw went down into the liquids.

These are how far down each straw went into the liquids:
-Distilled water: 5.1 cm
-Tap Water: 6.2 cm
-Salt water: 7.5 cm
-Vegetable oil: 7.1 cm
-Liquid Detergent: 4.7 cm
-Corn Syrup: 7 cm

I know how you measure density. Mass over volume.
But how do I find out the mass AND volume?

Please help? Thank you :)
