School- Nursing degree

This year i started year 11 at school after a bit of a break. Ive decided that i want to be a nurse, or actually a paramedic. So ive picked my subjects accordingly and started doin all the tafe work and so on. But recently ive had no motivation what so ever to continue. ive only bein doing it for a bit over 2 months and if i really do go all the way through with it im gona be in and out of school and uni for the next 5 or 6 years.
So, basically i will do it, its gona be dam hard but i will do it, tho i get the odd day wear i feel like im wasting the teachers time and my own time, but hay i gess we all get those?
So yeah, if there is any ranters out there who are nurses, doctors, paramedics, vet's etc who can give me a bit of "friendly" advice about my carrere choice it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Here is some advice: There is a HUGE difference in being a nurse and being a paramedic. Nurses have 4 year degree and make decent money depending on where you work. Becoming a paramedic requires you pass an exam that most prepare for by taking a 3 week course with some follow on on-the-job training. Plus they only make about $13 dollars an hour depending on where you are.

Actually a lot of nurses only have 2 year degrees. The 2 year programs are the most sought after because the certification is pretty much the same but it takes half as long to do it and is about half the cost.

True, I think that is the difference between a L.P.N. and a R.N. (assuming I got the abbreviations right).

From what I have been told paramedics only get what amounts to the equivalent training as a combat medic in the army, and that ain't much.

The course i am currently doin is preliminary type one. Meaning that once it is finished it gives you the choice of continued training in you area of interest i.e. R.n E.n Ten etc
Tho what i am doin at the moment is fairly basic i finish with a certificate 3 wich then allows me to do a university degree, or something along those lines. im currently just thinking about the next 2 years not the next 7 or so lol
