SCH-i730 or regular phone?

I have Verizon, and I am not switching to another carrier, but I need a new phone. I have an e815 which has been awesome, when it worked. I am on my 4th one in 6 months and this one is now dead as well (charging and battery problems) I am on a family share plan, but I am not the primary line, so I do not get NE2 but I am eligible for promotional pricing. No regular that Verizon has right now really looks good to me, but I did notice that the Samsung SCH-i730 PDA is only 99.99 online. I have always really liked this phone, but I don't really need the PDA features enough to pay 2-3 hundred dollars for a high end PDA phone. Since it is so cheap now I was thinking I would just pick one up, but I was wondering how it works as a phone first and a PDA second. I would not have a data plan, but I do have Wi-Fi and home and at school, so I don't really need the data. So my question is, should I grab this PDA at a great price, or should I just get a regular Verizon phone that is priced at under $120 (my budget, willing to use rebates though)? Thanks in advance

edit: I love the hackability of the e815, and if I get a regular phone it would have to have flash themes, because I CAN NOT use the red bar UI for 2 years.

You will most likely find the WiFi to be very slow as the speed is limited by the processor on the phone. Not the fastest thing out there I don't think. Won't be anything like using a PC.

I would think if you don't really need the PDA features, why bother. Plus it is larger and bulkier than a regular cell phone. Get something you really like and is more practical for your use.

I am also debating about this.

There are other uses for the PDA though if you want extras, like an organizer, etc? Right?

I want to try something new, other than another random flip-phone. I am not very enthused by the chocolate either.

Any suggestions for particular PDAs'?

Verizon has the Motorola Q Smartphone. Cingular had the 8525 and the Blackjack. T-Mobile has the Dash. Then there is always the Blackberry. There is slso the Nokia E61.

All have some flavor of calendar, contact manager, task list and email as well as phone. The 8525 is also WiFi capable.

The 8525, Blackjack, Dash and E61 are all GSM phones. I went on to upgrade to the i730, but the price to current Verizon users to upgrade is 199.99, when the new customer price is only 99.99. Whats with that? I guess its decided for me then, no i730. Anything on Verizon worth getting beside the KRZR (screens are too small, and I can't deal with the red bars) and the 8600 (I just don't like it very much)? I like the slider chocolate but I hear mixed reviews on the touch buttons, and I hear its not too great for texting. Any input? Thanks again
