I was playing scattergories and a debate slipped up about one of the answers I had , I put blue tulips as one of the flower that begin with a b but my friend disagreed that that dosen't count its like saying red car but I argued saying but they develop different flower from one flower and it will be labeled as a different type because its an offspring of the original just as a red rose and a black rose are different types . my question is am I wrong or would you consider my friend right .

It seems like your friend is right. Unless a tulip is specifically classified that way (like "blue tulip" is the scientific name for a tulip unique from all the other tulips or something) then maybe it would count. Like, if you are asked to name a type of snake, you could say "Black Mamba" because it describes a specific type of snake that is different from the other Mamba snakes (and Black Mambas aren't even black, it's the inside of their mouth that's black). Tulips of different colors are pretty much classified together and not usually distinguished by color, at least, not the blue tulip :)
