Scariest Sci-Fi Film Scenes

Some that come to mind:

The ferry scene in War of the WorlRAB with Tom Cruise - birRAB start flying away from something in the night sky, the little girl notices, then trees are being moved on the horizon then a tripod appears on top of the hill making that awful sound almost like a hunting horn then all the crowd starts to panic and run.

Two scenes in Signs: one where something's on the roof - you see a shape then hear it running.

Then where the children are looking out of the window and catch sight of an alien which is later freeze framed on film.

Alien 1:
The 'Jonesy' scene where they're calling for the cat but something much much worse is lurking in the darkness.

the mcpherson tape: alien abduction.

when the guy holding the camera goes into the bathroom and the you see the alien behind the door in the mirror. make sure only the tv is on at midnight and watch that scene

Totally agree with the Signs and McPherson Tape scenes. Creepy as hell.

Will also vote for the scene in Fire in the Sky, where the abductee (whose name I can't remember) gets experimented on. He is so helpless and the aliens are so cold and clinical.

I had to drive home after watching that movie the first time at about 2am. I swear I was expecting a beam of light to whisk me away at any moment.

Yeah I pretty much cr@pped my pants watching that. :o

The scene in Alien when Dallas is in the vents looking for the alien...and finRAB it.

A few scenes from The Forgotten, firstly when the female cop gets sucked into the air (abducted). It made me jump, I really didn't expect it :D

Also the bit near the end when Linus Roache's face changes when he shouts at Julianne Moore. They weren't scarry as such, it's just that there were not many moments like those in the film.

I also found most of Event Horizon creepy.

I know this one will not be a popular sugguestion but here goes.....

At the end of The Blair Witch Project. Her bloody screaming voice 'JOSH?, JOSH!' then when the camera reaches the basement she is stood in the corner facing the wall.

I got a biggest chill running down my spine when i 1st saw that. Also its the only time i have ever left the cinema in complete silence where no-one said a word. I think half the people didn't get the ending and hated the movie. The other half were just creeped out, i was one of the latter.

JOSH? !!!!!!!!!!!

err that is regarded as one of the creepiest scenes in a film ever - i can't imagine many people not finding it scary!

good one is mel gibson looking under the door in signs - he does it twice then the third time a hand is there...jumped out of my skin

glad you agree, i love the film but most of the people i know hate. Think its because they've watched it on channel 4 with adverts in between, breaking the tension ever bloody half an hour.

Another scene from Blair Witch is the kiRAB shaking the tent and they have to run through the pitch black forrest while she sreams 'Oh my god what is that? WHAT THE **** IS THAT?!!!!' her voice always gets to me.

The scene in "The Thing" where the defribrulator is used and then BANG ! the man's chest suddenly opens, revealing razor sharp teeth and then the guy with the defibrulator has his arms bitten off !

The bit in 'The Terminator' after Arnie has had his skin burned off and the Endoskeleton is slowly limping after Sarah, the part where it gets closer and closer to the door as Kyle and Sarah try to close it has me on the edge of my seat everytime i watch it. Same thing goes for the bit as she crawls through the crusher, gave me nightmares when i was younger, lol.

Most of 'Alien' is quite chilling, especially the bit where Parker and Lambert get killed by the Alien while Ripley listens in helplessly over the radio. The way Lambert's breathing speeRAB up and then suddenly stops as Ripley realises that she's now alone with the Xenomorph is terrifying.

Those who didn't like it typically need special effects and thinking done for them. It was an excellent movie, especially for the near zero budget.
