Scared...vericose vein surgery in 2 weeks

I am scared about having vericose vein surgery in 2 weeks. I have never had this done obviously. It's just one long vein in my left leg. I am having the lasor thing done in the upper part of the leg, and the actual removal in the inner lower leg.

I am afraid of complications if any. Like getting a blood clot or something from having this done. I am not going to be doing antiobitics before hand eithor because they make me so sick. So they will give them to me only if an infection happens to start.

Anyone with experience with this?

Is this an elective procedure? If so, why not cancel it if it is making you this upset? The risks are very low.
