scared of MRI scan

My PCP has recommended a MRI brain scan to check for multi-fract stroke damage. I'm scared to do this because

1. MRI equipment is very noisy and I have very sensitive hearing, which causes many problems already.

2. my body has odd reactions to many things that do not bother other people.
For example, I get symptoms of low blood pressure even when the pressure is high (side effect of calcium blocker or beta blocker medicine?) and symptoms of low blood sugar even when the BG is following a normal pattern (not even dropping steeply).

I have had many mri's and every time I have one I am given ear phones to listen to music and you still can hear the noise but not nearly as loud.....

If you are nervous about the scan in general ask for a relaxant(sp) I usually take an ativan but talk to your doctor about it first
