I was wondering if anyone could give me some real advice.I had an accident 3 and a half months ago. After 10 days was diagnosed with right scaphoid fracture, and left hand soft tissue damage, even though the pain was the same.My right hand was in plaster for 10 weeks, during which time it did not heal very well. All this time i was complaining about the pain in the left wrist ,and being told" soft tissue damage".I saw 4 different registrars at the fracture clinic and 2 weeks ago,and the fifth registrar told me that the left hand is also broken. He showed me the original xrays fom 10 wks before and the fracture. He told me that i would need surgery and be referred to the upper limb surgeon as soon as possible and that he would speak to him.
He did speak to him and let me know. After that i heard no more. The plaster was removed from the right hand as there was no healing. So now i have had to chase up the clinic.I have a consultation in 10 days time.
Now,my question is: With both wrists broken and very painful, should they do surgery as soon as possible ,or can they put me on a waiting list for next year? Bearing in mind the wrong diagnosis was made and i have been using a broken limb for 3 and a half months.
