Well I decided to compose when I realized that I have no idea what the scale actually does.
Let's say the key is B-minor, if I played a piece in B-minor I know that every C and F would be sharps, but how should I compose when I have chosen my key? I asked someone I know and the answer I got was "It focuses on the B-minor scale".
What does this mean?
