well I just put a deposit down on a thunder grey. Was kind of holding out for the 2011 zx10 possibly, but the s1000 looked so good in person and has so much to offer. Now I have to wait until may/june to get it. Don't worry the duc isn't going anywhere.

+ 1 there. I was/am considering adding this bike to my arsenal. First impression is that this bike will be less prone to shop visits. Duc is going nowhere for sure but it's always nice to have different ammo for different ops.

OK - question for you guys who have test ridden the S1000RR and own a 1098/1198S...

I am in a bit of a pickle over the 1198S vs. the S1000RR. I have test-ridden both and they are both worlds apart different, yet very much the same. I currently own a BMW K1200S that I have had for the last 3 years and previous to that was a K1200GT and a GSXR1000... I am 100% familiar with the 4-cylinder way of power delivery, but love the useful, low-end grunt of a twin's power. Oddly, I have never owned a twin and I cannot tell you why; it just has not been in the cards. But if ever I did, a Ducati is it.

So... If you had to choose just one, which one and why?

BTW - The 1198S (which I have deemed comparable to the S1000RR with the ABS/DTC) is almost $10k OTD more expensive... That's the really tough part to swallow...

Thanks to all aficionados in advance!

CHEERS!

yes I have

Seems like a "value" but man, it looks like some weird transformers/anime design. Its like they designed the one side and realized it looked like a honda and decided to do something else.

It looks like a R6 to me. The swingarm, the tail section from a 2006-2007 R6, the one headlight and the plastics on the side kinda flow towards the nose cne like a r6.

Nonetheless, that bike is getting rave-reviews from every damn magazine. It will probably get 2010 BOY...............................................Well, I'm gonna go stare at my RSV4 now
