Unbelievable....I have wanted to see Vai in concert since I first heard Passion and Warfare in 90/91. He's who really gave me the inspiration and push to take my guitar playing seriously.
Opening act was Eric Sardenas who is a very good classic/modern blues player. Did a Jimi tribute at the end by dumping some everclear on the stage and lighting it then dropping his guitar into it and started playing.
Unfortunately he paled in comparison to Steve. I was shocked at how good his band mates are. Jeremy the drummer is young but rocks. His bass player performed probably the best bass solo I've ever heard and his two backup guitarists have the ability to to go out on their own now and have an amazing career.
Not the flashiest concert I've ever been to as it was a very intimate venue but by far it was technically the best show I've seen yet. I can't wait to see Vai, Satriani and Malmsteen when they go back on tour this summer!
