Saturday Supercade coming to Warner Archive DVD

If there was any 80s cartoon that I thought would be forever lost in the archives, I'd have thought it would be this but it's cool to see that they'll do something with it. I wasn't a fan of the show (not really sure what state of life I was in when it was on the air) but I'm always glad to see them dust off the obscure cartoons as it gives a little hope that they might dust off some that I personally want to revisit some day.

They said that they wouldn't be able to recreate the original broadcasts. I imagine that each segment (at least the ones that will come out) will get its own complete collection. It also goes on to mention that this release is still in the planning stages, and that we might not see it for a while. Still, I'm "game"...

It is planned for sometime next year. My guess is that it would all be on one release since each segment is not particularly long (we aren't talking 22 minutes per segment) and there was only 2 seasons (with some segments only lasting one season). Each segment has its own opening theme. The trick will be how they manage to do the main theme to the whole show. Obviously, the segments they don't have the rights to will have to be excised from it and different footage from the segments they do own put in.

I haven't seen this show in ages. I think they aired some of this on CN back in the day though. Now I'm missing Pole Position.

Saturday Supercade deserves a DVD release. At the same time, Warner Bros. and Nintendo Industries also had to come to some sort of agreement, before the show, itself, could even be considered for DVD release. Let's stay on top of this.

This is the first official confirmation by Warner Archive on a Saturday Supercade delay. Not a vague all encompassing general statement that somebody randomly said that could mean anything.

I go to their facebook and twitter accounts regularly, so I get all their possible hints, rumors, and etc. Do what you want either way, though. To each their own.
