Sanyo tv randomly turning off?

I use my 32" sany tv as a monitor for my desktop computer, two days ago it started turning off randomly, along with making a noise, I thought it was the power strip that it was plugged into at first, but then I noticed that the top left corner of the tv smelled like soldering and it felt warm to the touch. iv only had the tv for a year, any suggestions on what to do? thanks
