Sanyo HDTV- no sound on HD channels when I use an HDMI cable?

yea i have a sanyo hdtv and when i use an HDMI cable, the audio on some HD channels doesnt work. I think it may only be channels with dolby digital 5.1, but im not sure, is there a way I can fix this?
