Sanyo 42in LCD tv, about 4-5 years old, gets a temporary burn and has glow around the edges. how to fix it?

The "burn in" happens when an image is left on screen for less than ten mins an takes a bit to go away, and the glow around the edges is as if its to bright. I was told a long time ago that Sanyo has a deal with Wal-Mart that I could bring any Sanyo in an switch it for any reason... I don't know if that's true, just want my tv fixed
