do i have to be apart of this to take this class?

how is this teacher???

Okay, I checked out the entire class catalog, and what this means is that for section 1335, there are two lecture sessions and a lab session, and you need to sign up for both together. Session 1 is the lecture, held on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Session 2 is the lab, held on Tuesday.

The teacher has very good ratings on ratemyprofessors.com (you can check out any professors there who have taught before ). That isn't the most reliable of sites, but in this case, she has been rated by 87 people, and most seem to like her (although they say the course isn't easy).

The Adelante Program is what is known as a persistence program for Latino students. It isn't clear that you need to be in that program to take this class, and I could find earlier descriptions of classes where it said that the classes were not limited to students in the Adelante program (from two years ago), but I'm a little suspicious because the class, which is at a good time of day, is still open when most other sections are closed. You could try to register for it, and if you can't get in you will know why.

I used to go to Santa Monica College, although it was many many years ago, and so this question attracted my attention.

The first thing you need to do is to go to the Santa Monica College Bookstore and purchase their school catalog, which explains each and every course they have, and which classes you have to take during the same semester together, and it will tell you what part 1 and part 2 means and explain a lot of things to you.

You basically need to have both a class schedule, and a school catalog, and you have to read both to get the full picture.

Since this is a chemistry class, it could be that you are supposed to take both of these classes in the same semester, as one might be a lab and the other might be just a lecture, and the two need to be taken together. One of the above classes is on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the other class is on Tuesdays. I suspect you might have to take them both together. But I can't know for sure just by looking at these listed classes.

Sometimes it will say in the schedule of classes and sometimes you have to look in the catalog to find this out.

You can also go to the school guidance counselor and ask this question, as that's what they are there for, to answer these types of questions, but you'll need to make an appointment.

The catalog will probably say what the Adlante Program is.

There isn't an easy way to know what the teacher is like, unless you can talk to someone who already took his class. You just take your chances, otherwise. I wouldn't avoid the class if you need to take it just because you're not sure of the teacher. If any other teachers are teaching the same class this semester, then you have a choice of teachers; but if not, just go with the class that's listed, even if you hear the teacher isn't any good, unless you can afford to postpone taking this class and take it later on. They used to list the teacher's name next to the class....don't they list the teachers anymore? That seems really strange to me. Check the schedule again and see if there is any teacher listed.

Good luck.
