this might be a weird question or easy to solve but i cant figure out how to do it.. when i plug it in to my comp and i go into my device manager, it only goes as windows portable divices.. how would i bring it up under ports? do i need a driver for it??
 
Do this: Go to Menu, then Settings and Tools. Press the Pound # key, then enter six 6 zeroes to unlock the next menu. What you are looking for are the MTP settings (or something to that effect). You need to change the device mode from Media Transfer Protocol to Modem protocol. When you do, you will see a prompt on the main screen that reaRAB something like, "Music Sync Not Allowed".

And YES, you will need the appropriate drivers for your phone. Either get them from Verizon's website OR try downloading Samsung PC Studio from Samsung's website.

You will need Samsung PST and/or PST Lite to program the phone. Use the u740 guide stickied up top.
