ok, here goes..just got the sony surround speakers and receiver (if part numbers are relevant, let me know and i will include a note). I plugged everything up as it was displayed, and got static when the receiver was set to "radio". PROBLEM 1
-static only came from the front L, front R, and center speakers and not the surround L or R.
Aside from this, when my TV is switched to the PS3 (hdmi) input, the problem persists, front L, R, and woofer work but surround L and R do not.
OK, thats the first problem...the second problem occurs when i switch the input to the CPU (vga). no sound plays at all, i was told to connect the optical cable from the receiver to the tv, and the fact that the tv was getting a signal from the computer would make the sound work..
now that i think about it, i dont see how that could work. the cpu is connected through video and not audio so...this shouldnt work right? im having trouble articulating this question correctly but anyway, there it is, any help with EITHER problem would be greatly appreciated, and i dont mind elaborating at all, just specify.
