Hello all,
I took delivery of a Samsung Tocco F480 yesterday and so far have found it pretty good until today when i tried haing a long conversation. I found my signal constantly dropping every ten minutes or so and my calls being cut off.
Prior to this i had a K800i on the same service provider (T-Mobile) which did have some signal issues until i disabled 3G and since then i had no issues at all. Tmobile say i shoudl have good signal strength in my area however this clearly isnt the case.
As i dont use 3G, i was wondering if there is a way to turn it off on the Tocco? The Config settings seem pretty limited, however i can access the admin menu (*#6984125*#) and get the following settings under "Network":
Power on Attach: (Enabled/Disabled) -- current disabled
Network mode: (Auto, GSM 900, GSM 900/1800, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS) -- current GSM 900/1800
Network Order: (GSM first, WCDMA first) -- Currently GSM first
Service Domain (Combined, PS, CS) -- Currently "Combined"
2Mode Pref: (Enabled, Disabled) -- Currently Disabled
in addition i can also access the Internals menu, but that seems a bit complex to me!
I want to try this out and then speak to Tmobile is nothing here works, as i may look into flashing firmware.
Also on my old D500 and my Girlfriends U600 its possible to manually turn the camera flash on (think you hold down star or hash while in the viewfinder), creating an impromptu "flash light" - is there any way to do this on the Tocco?
Any advice on this or the issue of signal problems on the Tocco would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
