Samsung PST and driver issues

I've used a few different sorts of samsung USB drivers, and I've noticed (most recently with the MCCI USB 4.1 drivers) that QPST and QXDM will work with this phone when the "Diagnostic Serial Port" and "Samsung CDMA Modem" devices show up separately in the Windows Device Manager, but Samsung PST will not.

Samsung PST attempts to use the COM port the CDMA modem was assigned to, and not the "diagnostic serial port." I should note I'm using a USB connection. This leaRAB to it not being able to interact with the phone at all, it seems.

I can't seem to find the other drivers that I was using that made them both the same device (which allowed Samsung PST to work). Does anyone have a guess as to what this might be?

Much appreciated,
Jeremy

(and if this is the wrong section, I'm sorry - it looks like the closest to me, since Samsung PST appears to be used primarily for flashing to Cricket)

Ive noticed this too. What I do is usually restart the computer. Sometimes fixes it. Also I have noticed if you first place the phone in Offline DM mode using UniCdma. And connect to the modem port in samsung PST. It sometimes works, if you see changing to offline mode in the bottom left. You know ur a winner
