Samsung, or Panasonic Plasma TV.....?

I want to buy a 42"/50" Plasma TV for my Lounge.

I have a £500 budget, but willing to go up to £650 if i'm getting something worth the price.

I like these items:

Samsung

I really like the Samsung PS50C450 because of all the Net features it has, and i'm really considering buying it.

The only thing that is stopping me purchasing it is the item developing faults early on and bad customer service.

I've read the reviews about both these issues online, and it scares me ;(

My question is;

Are Samsung REALLY that bad, when it comes to there items and service?
And is it a safe bet to got for a Panasonic Plasma instead.

Tell me what you think? ;)
Atm, i'm gonna be just watching tv shows/DVDs and the net connection would be a bonus. ;)

In the future, i would like to get into gaming, so it has to be good enough for that purpose.

I only want to buy one TV, that has everything i could ever need for the next ten years plus if possible.
@d.giff56 .

Yeah, i actually want 100Hz minimum! ;) I don't want something that is slow as h3ll
600Hz would be ideal, like the Samsung one, and 400Hz like the Panasonic.
