I got the Samsung Omnia because I was upgrading from a PocketPC. One of the first things I noticed is the phone would act slow and sometimes cause programs to hang when going from Portrait to Landscape mode. I soon realized that the Samsung extras seemed to slow things down so I disabled the Samsung Widgets and Today and it improved performance drastically. It ran more like a WM device.
However, having buggy issues Google Maps. It wasn't find the satellites at all. Then I set the GPS manually by setting it to Comm 8 Baud 4800. Worked good when I used it but then when I went to turn it on again, it couldn't find the satellites again. It actually locked up completely, I had to pull the battery out. Resetting it worked but then again it acted up. I had to reinstall and config it again. It seems like Google maps is hit and miss with this phone. I noticed I lost all my contacts when pulled the battery in my phone but was able to retrieve them because I also keep a sync backup copy of them. Any thoughts?
Other then that, the phone seems to work good. Exactly what I wanted.
