samsung lcd tv LE40A559P?

hi there, can someone get me help about this samsung lcd tv le40a559... i brought it last year but i didnt use it till about 2weeks agos and i found out the tv is switching off whenever am watching it and it makes a funny sound before it goes off and sometime i have to press the off button from the remote and it will come on again... ican return it again cos the warrtty has expired... is it the setting or what? it a new one... pls help... thanks
