Samsung L210 camera, file error?

I have a Samsung L210 camera and a lot of the time, when reviewing pictures a light starts blinking and I cant do anything. Then something comes up that says file error and I have to delete that picture.
 
I've been reading everywhere that it's a matter of [re]formatting your memory card - which can be done through your actual camera ... I, however, have yet to try it. I've lost sooo many beautiful pictures due to this "file error" issue ... That being said, I'm willing to try anything at this point ...
