Samsung Impression SGH-A877 SMS text settings?

I just got the samsung impression yesterday and i am switching from the blackberry pearl. On the pearl you could hold as many texts on it as you wanted until the memory got full and i had about 12000 on it and with the impression it wont let you hold more than 500 texts. Does anyone know how to make the impression hold as many texts as you want on it?? if you know let me know. thanks
