samsung impression and sms messaging?

I just got a samsung impression and while i can receive sms messages it is not letting me send any out. Is there a simple solution to this or do i have to buy an app to make this work?
 
That may have something to do with your network provider. :/

I don't have a Samsung impression, but my Samsung phone had the same problem but I checked with my network provider first.
