Samsung Gravity T t669 and Samsung Impression A877 Data plans and sim cards?

I'm looking to get a new phone for Christmas, and I like the Gravity T t669 and the Impression A877. Do either of these need a data plan to work? And will I be able to get one of these and put my current SIM card (I have a Razr at the moment) in it and have it work? I'm on T-Mobile right now so I know I'll need to unlock them to have them work.
