Samsung Galaxy SL won't read external SD?

Well I bought an 8gig sd card. Worked fine for a month then today, it's not reading at all. When checking the system it says "No SD Card" in settings. So..

..No I cant format SD - Since it cant ever recognize that there is one.

Any quick fix?
