samsung freeform for metro pcs music player issue?

i have a samsung freeform and i like it but the thing is i want to use it for music right but everytime im listeing to music, everytime i get a text it stops my music to show the text..and another thing is i cant multitask, like listen to music and text at the same time.....is their a way i could stop text from interrupting my music or a way to multitask
