Samsung Focus Please Help!?

Hi ok so for some reason every time i pressed the internet key it wouldn't come up, my dad has the same phone and plan on the same account and his worked so i knew it was a problem with my phone. I did a master restart before i did i took out the sim card, everything seems to be working except now my phone won't register the sim card. My question is how do I make it work? Thanks
