So i finally upgraded and got my 1st smartphone..Fascinate...i bought it and intended to return it within the 2wks for the iphone4 but no wim wondering if i should just keep it?

Has anyone had exp with both phones? pros and cons?

I liked that the iphone was easy to jailbreak and it seems real difficult to root the droids.

Also, the fact the iphone4 has a frontcam for video calls is pretty cool and can be used over 3g when jailbroken. those were mainly the 2 reasons why i was gonna go with iphone.

Thanks...im not exactly too savy with all this, but i read in another post about one click root? But i cant remember what thread it was in.

Has anyone heard about this? I know the poster said it was done for the fascinate but i read a site online that said it was available for fascinate(maybe an old article?)

Anyways, if anyone has any opionions about either phone i would love to hear them.

I think the front facing cam and ability to use it over 3g when jailbroken is a plus...especially since all the new phones about to be released will be including this feature as well.

Yes, the root process can be done by loading a file and letting it doe its thing, very easy. There are lots of good "noob" style write ups on xda. Like anything else do your homework first. Oh and a warning, it does get addicting!

I can't speak for the iphone so I wont.

Thank you. One more thing i forgot to ask...mainly for iphone users, How much of a factor should i pu into the iphone NOT having flash? What would its limitations be?

Depends where you are. In Canada, the Captivate update to Froyo is already in effect. For AT&T, what I heard from rumors, which I believe is credible, is that the Captivate update is going to be like the Vibrant's. You have to download the mini-Kies and do it with a PC synced to the phone.

Doesn't matter at all for people who flash and root phones.

Almost none, unless there's some very specific website you need access to on a daily basis that requires Flash and you can't get through your day without it. Guess what the first thing I install on all of my browsers is? FlashBlock. Even updated Androids come with Flash set to click to play.

Flash is not something you need everyday but there will be moments like wow, it blows your mind to have it at that moment. Last year I remember being able to watch live streaming feeds from a news website on the San Bernandino gas main explosion on my mobile. Yesterday I watched streaming live feeds of Cairo protests in my mobile.

Every once in a while, you get to see a web page, even mobile pages that has some video in it that must be interesting enough you got to see. Most of these videos are in YouTube --- which is why YouTube is really more important to any mobile than Flash --- so you can view them in your iPad or iPhone or non Flash mobile that has a YouTube app. But I will occasionally, and often enough, find videos that are NOT in YouTube, and being able to see them, does add to my experience. In any case, if you don't have Flash, there is always Skyfire browser, which has versions on both iPhone and the Captivate's Android 2.1, which can run a lot of Flash videos but not all.

if you do play Flash games, well that's another thing though.

Even if you don't watch the video, or even if the video is in Youtube, the fact that an Android browser with Flash would display the look and image of the video player as it appears on the PC, right in that web page and not put it in a big grey square, can often be the reason enough. It truly makes the web page look complete and aesthetically pleasing, though it does increase scroll lag. The Flash feature though can be turned off and optionally loaded though by selecting the right setting on the browser.

That has nothing to do with Flash. You need a video player that can read whatever format movie file is using. If the movie file uses a format that is not compatible with the default one on the Fascinate---which I know is an enhanced one by Samsung---there are many you can find in the Android Market.
