Samsung F480T Forgotten Password?

My Friend Recently Bought a samsung f480t phone. she forgot her password on her phone. is there some way you can hack the password with a program on the computer or some how get around the password. or reset the whole phone all together?
It is a Telstra Phone and you can't press hash or star in the phone lock menu
