Samsung 707sc2 help

Hello all,
Newbie here...
I need your help.i bought a samsung 707sc2 that was already unlocked but its second hand and my problem is the default password(9999) is not working,is their way that the password can be retrieved?i think the owner did not set a password during unlocking.

also how can i check the version of my phone?

when i input *#1234# nothing happens

i think "00000" is not possible because 707sc2 only accept 4 digit number

i already try it.
