Got this new TV today, replacing an analogue TV used with a freeview box. Connected it to the aeriel, same as I did with the freeview box. Went through the first setup bit and it found a few channels but not any BBC channels or ITV or C4. Bound to be missing loads more though. Ran the auto-setup thing several times more and sometimes get the missing channels just with appalling signal where it cuts out, changes the size of the screen, cuts out the sound, and hisses.
I am totally non-technical but I'm sure that a brand new telly should work better than a 4 year old freeview box. Oh, and the signal changes for the better if I hold the aeriel lead.
I'm guessing that it could be the lead. But, to save me buying a new lead unnecessarily, how can I find out for sure. If it worked on TV before, why doesn't it work now?
