Same VoIP provider for home (landline) and Symbian Wi-Fi?

Hi folks. I have two questions:

1. My Sunrocket VoIP provider just dumped me/us and I?m in search for a new provider with good deal and I?m wondering if anyone?s setting can be also used on E65 so if I?ll out (especially out of country trips) I can use my E65?s Wi-Fi to make calls back to US and get charged as I was using my home. As a back up I just tested Truphone and it works fine and free till end of year, but I?d like something more permanent and I need new land line for home.

2. With Truphone (I do not need to accept calls) I can connect on demand when I choose ?internet call?, but what would be the best trick to disconnect Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi radio off? As I do not want drain battery.

Thanks a lot for all inputs

Gizmo works really well, thats what I use on an E65. And the best way to conserve batt is to turn wifi off. I say just get a VOIP account that you can use with your E65 and use it at home on wifi as well. Why have two different setups?

Guys, i need land line first (voip) and S60 voip as a backup for traveling. land line a must (not PC) so i can connect my 5 multi recievers phone system (in every fricking roomk, otherwize i never can reach my kids at home :o) and i do a lot of faxes. I checked out Gizmo today -- not offering "gizmo" to connect regular land line phones and fax machines -- so for me it's out of questions. and price is slightly higher to the countries i need to call compare to Truphone.

Does anyone know a company that offers home phone service and their settings can be transferred to S60??????? it's the best case scenario for me, Other wise i'll stick to some company for home and truphone for E65.

You can try broadvoice.com as well. You can get land service and also use your Nokia phone to make calls.

For billing reasons, you can only connect only one device at a time. Meaning if your land line is connected to broadvoice, then your nokia will not be able to connect to their servers.

My friend uses their service with Nokia N80 and its not a problem for him because when he travels outside the country, he turns off broadvoice land line equipment, so while he is abroad he is connecting his N80 to make calls through his broad voice account.

I am also using broadvoice.com. My office number is on broadvoice. The above poster is correct, you can only register one device at a time. When I go out of town, I just unplug my VoIP phone and then register on my E90 as needed to make calls with my office number. It works well. One thing to keep in mind, after you disconnect off BV, it takes about 3-5 minutes before another device can register with the same SIP settings. Broadvoice also has a BYOD (bring your own device) lite plan. For $5.95/month you get 100 minutes. If you need the SIP settings for Broadvoice, PM me.
