I have a girlfriend that needs papers. She's only illegal because she's a political asylumee.
If we get married where its legal, and come back to florida where we live, does she get her papers?

Reallllll answers only please.
Thanks.

A same-sex marriage is only legal in the state in which it is recognized. If you got married in Massachusetts, the marriage is valid, but it is not valid in Florida since it's not recognized as legal.

I don't see why not. US citizenship is a federal matter and the federal government gives full faith and credit to marriages in any state.

Of course, there may be some crazy loophole I haven't heard of.
