It needs to appear at the end of individual quotes as in:
"Realpolitik rose to prominence within international politics starting with the ascension of Bismarck" (Kissinger, 1996)
It should also appear at the end of the paraphrasing. If you paraphrase something they said and it takes 4 lines of a 8-line paragraph, you put it at the 4-line mark. If it takes the entire paragraph, then put it at the end of that paragraph. and so on. Never at the end of each sentence unless the paraphrase only takes that single sentence.
