Saltwater Cycling Help?

I have been cycling my 55 gallon fish only saltwater fishtank for aout 5 weeks now. the ammonia is gone and im waiting for the nitrite to go down now and some brown stuff (possibly algae i dont know for sure im new to saltwater) started appearing on the glass. can i get it off now with the algae scraper or should i wait until the end of cycling to do any sort of cleaning to the tank? thank you so much for your help
