Thank you! :) I did not like the movie at all. I thought the characters had no depth, and I didn't even like Angelina's acting in it. Idk, wasn't a good movie for me...:(
 
Judging by the trailers for this movie, Angelina definitely delivers. I'll be surprised if this movie is short of good.

ITA with that. Stereotypes are a bitch aren't they? All my friends know not to tell me any Russian/Communist jokes, lol.
 
I LOVED this movie. I had my doubts but I thought it was super cool.

As for how Russians were portrayed...yeah, I wonder. This movie probably gave people so many ideas on how to mess up the government too with all the president and bunker stuff. Plus it does make you wonder about global conspiracies but the way they made the Russians the root of the problem..:no: the portrayal was taken to a messy level. As a Latina I understand. I'm not Mexican but dang the way all Latinos are portrayed stereotypes us all.
 
That's true, haha, and I'm honestly used to Russians being the villains in movies, but idk I just thought this movie was too over the top with that..
 
I didn't really go in thinking about that cause I'm not russian. But if you are Russian, I could see how it could be taken offensively. The only defense I could say is that every movie needs a villain :shrug:

Hmm, well honestly, I'm used to Russians being portrayed in American movies as the bad mafia people, you know, but this movie kinda took it to another level, so I don't think it offended me as much as it pissed me off...because I'm honestly used to it and I can usually overlook it or just get really annoyed, but this one just merely pissed me off :( Sorry for the rant, lol
 
Same! The only way I wanna watch those sort of movies is when there's a specific actor in it I would watch it for. :D

See, it also doesn't help that I'm Russian. I'm used to movies being made about Russians and all that, but I don't know this one just...gahh, idk, so much stuff was so bsed for me...but that's just me :(
