Sallie Mae Scam? Need help with private student loan, and relief coming from the new

president? ? WHY was a family member able to borrow 40,000 private loan from Sallie Mae with a poor credit score? Now the payments have stared @ 9%, monthly is to much. Sallie Mae states "there is nothing they can do". Income to debt ratio is still high. Wants to make right,and is more then willing to repay loan,however needs guidance on what to do next. Thanks.
