Hello yahoo answerers and experts.
I am a starting independent sales rep. Have no sales education or background knowledge whatsoever. I just got "hired" by an internet store, to sell their products on a local market. By "hired" I mean that they dont pay me base salary, only comission (but very good ones, around 15%), so Im not technically an employee, just some kind of agent.
They want me to go out there and sell their products on the local market. Im barely starting out, trying to:
1. Find prospects (I dont have a "bottomless list" of prospects, so I have to get them myself)
2. Organize my sales cycle.
3. Determine what are my turnover rates, which is hard because I dont have a consistent, daily, quantity of prospects to contact.
SO!
I need some advice! Sales people outthere, can you share your knowledge and give me some pointers regarding either (or all
)of these issues?
1. How to build a prospects list? My target clients are music business people: musicians, producers and studio owners. So, its not like I can call somewhere and buy a list (not in this country at least) nor do I have the funding to pay for publicity.
2. How can I make a database so I can follow up on my own sales work? Every client is in a different point of the sales cycle and I need a way to keep track of this activity, hopefully with reminder alarms to tell me that an action item is pending. How do you suggest I do it?
3. I want to use e-marketing to expand my client list and find more prospects. Any suggestions on this matter?
Thank you in advance!
