S83 and Mustang seat

How many posts you gotta make to stop being a newbie. I have not been called than since my "Nam" days-John:rolleyes: (note over 500 posts on VTX board are yours truly).

I also have a red S83. The seat becomes bearable after a while. I was thinking of a seat conversion also but will wait until atleast next year. I plan on taking the bike on vaca in august to N.H. where I wil ride the Kangamangus highway from Laconia. About a 160 mile round trip. That will determine if I need a new seat or not.

I have an '05 S83, the more miles you put on it the seat gets better. I'm just shy of 10,000 miles and it is pretty good for me upto about 350 miles before my butt starts getting numb and tingly. When new about 100 miles was all it took. I noticed it starting to get better after about 3500 miles. I've read several places as well as read posts here saying that it takes 3000+ miles to break a seat in real good.

The stock seat needs to break in, then it is not bad at all. The Mustang seat is very comfortable. The Suzuki gel seat is a pretty good choice also. The Corbin is a bit hard but offers good support.
