is there a way to add message tones to the phone so i don't have to use the generic annoying ones that are built in?
 
Hello there,
You can change the sms tones that are pre-loaded into these new SE phones.

the trick is that it can only be done while flashing your phone with software called Total Multi-Server. Of course you will need a DSC-11 cable and at least 1 credit to use the total multi-server software.

durring your flash you have to option to change up to 6 of the pre-defined midi sms tones with any midi file you want, you can also change the camera shutter sound or just remove it.

Flashing the phone will also upgrade the firmware AND remove all the Cingular branding off of your S710a. so no more silly cingular Splats, or references to Medianet.
