S60 Backup phone?

So I just got the n95 as everyone knows here, I am looking for a backup phone now. Of cuz its going to be s60, but i m sorta willing to give made by nokia another chance since its so hard to find a made in finland now. I am thinking of N73 red/white or a e50 metal black. What do you think I should get? Please constructive advice only

I say go with the E50 or 5500 if your really just looking for a fully functional beater. E65 wouldnt make much sense as you already have the ultimate slider. You've been blessed with the higher end N series for so long that I dont think the E50s lack of power is going to excite you that much. It has a great keypad and a great joystick (even though I hate Joysticks.) Mine was quite buggy and upgraded to the latest FW but perhaps another one has been dropped since that time. From the video links Friedbrains posted earlier, the 5500 is the most intriguing of them all with it's durability factor. How cool would it be to drop your phone in a pint of guiness and slam it down like an irish car bomb only to have the phone sitting in the glass....run some water over it and throw some pron in their face! j/k ...my .02

Since your choices are the E50 and N73, I would say go with the N73. The price has dropped substantially since it's introduction and being that you're using such a multi-faceted device as the N95, the E50 will seem substandard as a second device.

i see, i m just looking to get this phone for talking and mostly sms'ing since n95 will take care of the rest. THebaker has a good pt, and it also helps that i have used 2 of them before already

how is the cam on the e50 green?

Good old days, I still haven't come across another phone that can access the files on another paired bluetooth device, recording conversations w/o annoying beeps...good old days...

If that's really all you need then go with the E50. It's keypad BLOWS away the N73s. Couple of hundo and it's yours and you wont feel guilty if it takes a spill. It's really kind of cool to use coming from an E61 (which of course you had for less than 24hours ) because their designs are so similalr. It's like a scrunched up E61 with a big ole woppin keypad to play with.

hmmm, indeed. I do see quite a # of n73's nowadays, althou its still not alot. But yeah i havent seen someone using a e50 before! Whats the price for a e50 now anyways? since n73 is still over 450 cad for a nice one with low lifetimer~

Last I checked, the Black/cam E50s were kind of steep over 3 hundo but that was shortly after that combo became available. I'm sure it's dropped to the 250-270 range as it's not really different than the 'nilla version anyway. I wish I still had it kind of but I know I wouldnt have used it once I got back on board with a full qwert.
