Hi, I was wondering if anybody had some tips for replacing plugs on my 2007 S 50. I searched the site for quite awhile but could not find anything. Also has anybody tried the NGK irridium plugs? Thanks!
How many miles do you have on your S50? I have 11K+ miles on my 06 with the original plugs, it runs fine, can't see a reason to change soon. I did change the gap from the recomended to .028.
In the old days when gas was leaded plugs had to be changed at 10K or so but not so much now.
I was actually hoping that maybe somebody had done this before and could tell me if I need to take off the gas tank or anything else. I'm sure somebody has done this before. Thanks for any help you could give me.
No need to remove the tank, it is a little easier if you remove the chrome trim on the top of the cylinders near the plugs. Be careful with the plug wires, pull on the boots. Put a small dab of anti seize when you re install the plugs to make next change easier. You will also need to pull the plugs when you do a valve check.
Thanks for the response. I see the covers you mentioned. I need to tinker with the bike. It will get up to 37 degrees today so the bike has been tucked away for winter.
