Just bought a new Schwinn Link from Walmart for $169. I know that these bikes are cheap but anything beyond this is beyond my budget. It has only been 2 days (it rained yesterday) and today the nut that attaches the handlebar to frame is rusty. I know I can return the bike but have spent so much time on it (looking for bicycles in general and adjusting the brakes), that I really don't want to go through it again.
If I leave the rusty nut in there (and should other parts begin to rust), what would the life expectancy of this bicycle be?
Bottom line I guess is, should I return the bike? Or is there anything I can do to prevent and cure the current rusting?
Many thanks
