running track vs bike trail for Military fitness.?

hi i'm 20 years old and i'm thinking about joining the army once i finish my degree in Criminal Justice, I should be done in a year from now. I want to go in as an 11B with Airborne school and RIP in my contract. I've been running all summer and my original 2 mile run time starting out in May was 18:45. Now my run time is 13:51. my main question is would running on a straight up track help me knock down the time seeing is that i run my two miles on a forest preserve bike trail. the part of the trail that i run doesn't have hills and is pretty flat although it does seem to move up on a slight incline and winds.

Also do you run on a track or trail for PT in BCT and AIT?

Current PT scores as of Saturday.

Push ups 2 min: 75

Sit ups 2 min: 80

Two Mile Run: 13:51

5 Mile Run: 35:07

Pull ups: 13
i am not in the ROTC or any other military college program.
