So I started running and have a lot of endurance. I can go for miles without issue save for one thing; my feet. I had some shitty Payless Champions and I was getting a lot of foot pain/strain, mostly under the foot in the arch area, so I went to a specialty shoe store and was informed I have very low arches; almost flat feet, and that I over postulate a bit. They spent a good hour with me and gave me Brooks Advantage 9s along with $60 arch supports, along with some fancy regular shoes for walking and told me to break in the arch supports with the regular shoes before exercising. I tried running in the Brooks yesterday without adding the additional arch supports and felt the pain under my arches after a mile and a half. Thus, after spending a few hours each day for 3 days or so walking around with the arch supports in the regular shoes, and today I decided to run in them. As instructed, I removed the Brook's arches and put in the $60 ones, then went out to run. I noticed the arches are very hard on my feet due to their plastic bottoms, but I thought this wouldn't matter too much. I started running and after a mile or so, I felt even worse pain in my arches and feet, and I had to stop running, take them out, and literally walk home in socks.
So what should I do? Did the people at the shoe store know what they were talking about?
