Background information: My mom plays 'Runes of Magic', and the game has installed itself into three places. The first is the C: drive, in Program Files, and contains the core game. Another is in My Documents, entitled 'Runes_of_Magic_3.0.5.2262', while a third is on my desktop entitled 'Downloads'. The last two are near identical, containing an application called ROMSetup and several .bin files. My assumption is that the patches for the game are first installed in 'Downloads' and then into the folder in My Documents, since she's tried installing the latest patch but had insufficient memory. The latest .bin file in Downloads is bigger than the one in the other folder, but the other files are the same in size and name.
Question: Is it necessary for the game to run smoothly to have both of these (again, identical) folders, or can I remove the 'Downloads' folder which is on my desktop and taking up a great deal of space?
